Basketball Recap: Isaiah Pickens' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Proviso East over Hinsdale South

Proviso East lost against Hinsdale South back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Proviso East Pirates took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hinsdale South Hornets. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Proviso East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Pickens, who posted 19 points. The contest was Pickens' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ramsey Momon was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Proviso East's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hinsdale South, they moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Proviso East and Berwyn/Cicero Morton will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hinsdale South, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Laurence at 7:00 p.m.
