Basketball Recap: South Hardin Takes a Loss

South Hardin suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 59-33 to the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Rebels are ranked 62nd).

Despite the loss, South Hardin still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Kix, who posted nine points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Kix has posted since back in November of 2023. Grace Eller was another key player, putting up nine points.

South Hardin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

South Hardin has already played their next game, a 43-37 victory against Sumner-Fredericksburg on the 24th. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-45 win against Denver on the 24th.
