Morro Bay took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Paso Robles, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Morro Bay Pirates won by a set and slipped past the Paso Robles Bearcats 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since March 1st.

Morro Bay had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 15-5.

Morro Bay's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Paso Robles, they dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Morro Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hoover on the 14th. As for Paso Robles, they will challenge Templeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
