Richlands' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Carteret, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Richlands came out on top in a nail-biter against West Carteret in their previous matchup on April 3rd, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
