Recap: St. Paul's Prep Lions vs. Burton Adventist Academy Angels

If the St. Paul's Prep Lions were feeling good off their 45-14 takedown of the Cristo Rey Fort Worth Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Paul's Prep fell 64-51 to Burton Adventist Academy on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Paul's Prep of the 39-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

When it comes to explaining why St. Paul's Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Haylie Hoang. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Hoang hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Rowen Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Gisselle Herman was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds for Burton Adventist Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Herman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Saniya Reyes, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

St. Paul's Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Burton Adventist Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
