Softball Recap: Emerald Comes Up Short

Emerald had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-9 to make it four. They lost 19-0 to the Westside Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Tuesday.

As for Westside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.

For Westside's part, Amelia Wilson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Starlyn Clardy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerald will challenge Brashier Middle College Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Bengal at the right time seeing as the Bengal are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Westside, they will take on Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
