Soccer Game Preview: Pocatello vs. Hillcrest

The Pocatello Thunder will head out to square off against the Hillcrest Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

If Hillcrest heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Pocatello took over last week. The Thunder came out on top against Preston by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Pocatello's winning goal came courtesy of Adelynn Shuler.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Neither the Knights nor the Grizzlies could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Hillcrest's first draw of the season.

With that draw, Hillcrest's record moves to 11-0-1. As for Pocatello, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Everything went Pocatello's way against Hillcrest in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Pocatello made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
