Baseball Recap: Granite City Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Granite City had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Gibault Catholic Hawks as the Granite City Warriors made off with a 19-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won four in a row.

Evan Brewer was incredible, firing off three home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Wilson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Looking ahead, Granite City will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Roxana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibault Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
