Softball Recap: Poly's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Poly entered their tilt with Clovis on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Cougars.

Cassandra Ayala made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Katelyn Cortez was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Poly's record now sits at 14-3-1. As for Clovis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly will welcome Shadow Hills at 3:15 p.m. on the 31st. As for Clovis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullard at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
