Volleyball Recap: Dawson School Comes Up Short

Dawson School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 27-29, 25-18, 25-10.

Cat DeHerrera paced Dawson School's offense, picking up seven kills. DeHerrera got some help from Erin Ashby and her five assists. Finally, Ashby was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Matise Lujan went supernova For Dayspring Christian Academy., getting 23 digs and one assist. Those 23 digs gave Lujan a new career-high.

Dawson School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Dawson School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they will face off against Center at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
