Volleyball Recap: La Porte Takes a Loss

La Porte suffered their biggest loss since September 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chesterton Trojans, falling 3-0. The Slicers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-16.

Evelyn Shirk paced La Porte's offense, picking up six kills. Shirk also shared the team's lead in assists with Lilly Buckley: they picked up nine each. Finally, Lauren Kirk kept La Porte's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Chesterton was led to victory by Delaney Barrett and Tenley Davis. Barrett had seven digs and two aces, while Davis hit 59.5% for 23 kills and 12 digs. Davis has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 43 times she's played. Audrey Roach also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

La Porte's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chesterton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

La Porte has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Crown Point on the 28th. As for Chesterton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Lake Central on the 28th.
