Baseball Game Preview: Lake Gibson Braves vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks

Lake Gibson hasn't had much luck against Santa Fe Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Braves will face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Lake Gibson came up short against McKeel Academy and fell 7-2.

Ryland Lund made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Catholic had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Miners 3-1.

Santa Fe Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Easton Beach, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Lake Gibson's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Santa Fe Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.

Lake Gibson might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Santa Fe Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
