Football Game Preview: Thurston Colts vs. Crater Comets + How To Watch

Thurston is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Crater is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Colts will host the Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Thurston was fully in charge, breezing past Springfield 38-7. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 31 points or more this season.

One reason for the win was Thurston's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Cruz Gray was especially locked on to Springfield's QB and sacked him twice. Bentlee Davenport got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Crater won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Churchill 37-36.

Thurston's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Crater, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Thurston took their victory against Crater when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 52-31 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Comets' Valentin Rodriguez, who rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
