Caden Sullivan named 2024-25 Massachusetts MaxPreps High School Basketball Player of the Year

Senior guard led Franklin to its first state title in program history.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Caden Sullivan of Franklin is the 2024-25 Massachusetts MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot senior guard led the Panthers to a 26-1 record and their first state championship in program history.

For the season, Sullivan averaged 23.0 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.5 assists per contest. In a 55-52 victory over Newton North in the Division 1 title game, he scored 11 of his team's final 13 points to finish with a game-high 31 points.

During state tournament play, Sullivan averaged 27.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.2 assists per outing.

Sullivan broke the school's single-season scoring record this season with 640 points to finish his career with 1,095.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released April 8. Past selections include 2023-24 All-NBA picks Devin Booker (2014), Jalen Brunson (2014, 2015), Anthony Davis (2011), Kevin Durant (2006), Anthony Edwards (2019) and Jayson Tatum (2014, 2015, 2016).
