It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fairfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Edwards County Lions 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Mules, who have now won three contests in a row.

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Edwards County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield will square off against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edwards County, they will challenge Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
