Volleyball Recap: Plainfield's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Plainfield was the 2-0 winner over Fishers when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Quakers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The matchup marked the Quakers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Audrey Utterback paced Plainfield's offense, picking up 15 kills. Utterback got some help from Charlee Groninger and her 33 assists. Utterback was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Fishers can attribute much of their success to Katie Brinkruff, who had 18 digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Plainfield fell to 6-1. As for Fishers, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fishers, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Zionsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
