Softball Recap: Pontotoc Takes a Loss

Pontotoc was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Lafayette Commodores. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly three runs.

Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Pontotoc didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 defeat against Nettleton on the 11th. As for Lafayette, they will be playing at home against New Hope at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Commodores surely won't give up without a fight.
