Volleyball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Harrells Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Village Christian Academy Knights, falling 3-0. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Harrells Christian Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Village Christian Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 31-29.

Riley Dixon paced Harrells Christian Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dixon got some help from Mary Willow Rumbold and her 17 assists. Hannah Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Harrells Christian Academy will challenge Fayetteville Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Village Christian Academy, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Cape Fear Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
