Softball Recap: St. Johns Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Joseph City, St. Johns was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Morenci Wildcats. For the Redskins, this counts as revenge for the 11-9 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

St. Johns saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Tsinajinnie, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

St. Johns pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Morenci, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

St. Johns wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 22-6 victory against Winslow on the 19th. As for Morenci, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Round Valley on the 19th.
