Soccer Recap: LaVergne Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dickson County last Thursday, LaVergne came back down to earth. The LaVergne Wolverines fell just short of the Smyrna Bulldogs by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

LaVergne now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Smyrna, the win keeps them at an undefeated 3-0-1.

Coming up, LaVergne will be playing at home against Cookeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Cookeville their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Smyrna, they will head out to square off against Wilson Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smyrna's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
