Softball Recap: Sullivan Victorious

Sullivan won the last time they faced Altamont and things went their way on Monday too. The Redskins came out on top against the Indians by a score of 8-3.

Aeralyn Thrasher made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Player #17, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Player #25 was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Sullivan's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Altamont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Sullivan will venture away from home to square off against Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Altamont, they will welcome Cumberland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
