Recap: Indian Land Warriors vs. South Pointe Stallions

The Indian Land Warriors entered their tilt with the South Pointe Stallions with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Indian Land secured a 57-53 W over South Pointe on Friday. Given Indian Land's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while South Pointe is ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Indian Land's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Jones, who scored 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Indian Land's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sincere Rasul, who scored 21 points along with two steals.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ry'Darius Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caymen Finch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Indian Land is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for South Pointe, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Land will take on Catawba Ridge at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 70.91 points so far this season, Catawba Ridge's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Indian Land better be ready for a challenge. As for South Pointe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Pointe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
