Baseball Game Preview: Americas Trail Blazers vs. Bel Air Highlanders

The Americas Trail Blazers will take on the Bel Air Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Americas will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Last Friday, Americas got the win against El Dorado by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Trail Blazers have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bel Air had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out El Dorado 4-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Highlanders have posted since February 25th.

Bel Air's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Julian Ponce, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Diego Ramirez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Americas is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. Bel Air's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-11-1.

Americas took their win against Bel Air in their previous matchup back in February of 2019 by a conclusive 15-6. Does Americas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bel Air turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
