Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laguna Hills). They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Downers Grove South Mustangs on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Laguna Hills got a great performance from Owen Rose as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rose has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Christian Sigaty was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Noe Garcia, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Laguna Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Laguna Hills broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-7. As for Downers Grove South, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Laguna Hills Hawks face off against Santa Ana Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguna Hills is facing Santa Ana Valley at the right time seeing as Santa Ana Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Downers Grove South, they will head out on the road to face off against Santiago at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santiago will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Downers Grove South surely won't give up without a fight.
