Baseball Game Preview: Pymatuning Valley Lakers vs. Springfield Tigers

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers will square off against the Springfield Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pymatuning Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Pymatuning Valley came out on top against Harding on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Lakers walked away with a 7-2 win over the Skippers.

Sean Croston was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Croston, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Springfield got the win against Waterloo on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Pymatuning Valley pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
