Baseball Recap: Lourdes Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Lourdes was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Lake City Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Michael Seger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Lourdes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Kottschade, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lourdes dropped their record down to 10-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Lake City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

While Lourdes had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
