Basketball Recap: The Fulton's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, The Fulton's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 51-31 to the Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to The Fulton of the 66-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why The Fulton lost, don't look at Lily Leonard. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Leonard's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laya Racanelli, who posted six points and 12 boards.

Even though they lost, The Fulton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Mississippi Valley Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Remi Sapp, who had 20 points. Jessie Huels was another key player, putting up 14 points.

The Fulton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

The Fulton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mississippi Valley Christian, they and Liberty Christian Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Mississippi Valley Christian's defense has only allowed 26.4 points per game this season, so Liberty Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
