Soccer Game Preview: Lynnwood vs. Shorewood

The Lynnwood Royals will face off against the Shorewood Stormrays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Tuesday, Lynnwood didn't have quite enough to beat Edmonds-Woodway and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for Lynnwood in their meetings with Edmonds-Woodway: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Shorewood put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Mountlake Terrace a 1-0 shutout. Shorewood wouldn't have won without Eli Cady, who scored the game-winner.

Shorewood pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Lynnwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
