Recap: Georgetown Eagles vs. Cedar Park Timberwolves
The Georgetown Eagles''s game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 28-21 to Cedar Park. Georgetown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedar Park apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Georgetown still got an impressive performance from Cody Holubec, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Georgetown's defense sure didn't make it easy: Cedar Park's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Caleb Reagor and his two sacks.
It was another big night for Ayden Arp, who threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Cedar Park also got a significant boost from Trae Hill, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Georgetown's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cedar Park, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Georgetown will face off against Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithson Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Georgetown in Texas (Smithson Valley is ranked 55th, while Georgetown is ranked 219th). As for Cedar Park, they will square off against Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
