Baseball Game Preview: Warsaw Tigers vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

The Warsaw Tigers will take on the Frankfort Hot Dogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Warsaw has three straight victories, Frankfort has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Warsaw beat Northridge 8-4.

Brock Bowser looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Stapleton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Hunter Dippon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Frankfort came up short against Western Boone on Thursday and fell 7-4.

Warsaw's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Everything went Warsaw's way against Frankfort when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Warsaw made off with a 12-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
