Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Rush City

Rush City entered their tilt with Mora on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 back in April.

Mora's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendal Pillar, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Pillar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Natalie Rood and Megan Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Rood went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Nelson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Nelson's first of the season.

Rush City's record is now 16-4. As for Mora, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Rush City will be playing in front of their home fans against Proctor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Mora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
