Softball Recap: Bethel Triumphs

Bethel made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Patrick-St. Vincent, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Bethel was the clear victor by a 17-5 margin over St. Patrick-St. Vincent on Tuesday. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Bruins walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Lily Fjellman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Dakari Washington was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3.

Fjellman wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bethel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Patrick-St. Vincent only managed eight hits.

Bethel's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8-1. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Bethel will challenge Fairfield at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Patrick-St. Vincent, they will head out on the road to square off against El Cerrito at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
