The Hunter Wolverines will head out to square off against the West Jordan Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hunter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Hunter was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Granger 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since March 22nd.

KINSLEY LAWRENCE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, LOIANA IONGI was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of KENYA LAPUAHO, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
Hunter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, West Jordan entered their tilt with Cyprus on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They didn't even let the Pirates on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Jaguars have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rita Tavita was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Tavita was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianna Fjeldsted, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Andrea Tagovailoa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
West Jordan pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hunter, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hunter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like West Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .404. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hunter suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to West Jordan in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
