Softball Game Preview: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack vs. Luis Valdez Leadership Academy Lions

The KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack will head out on the road to square off against the Luis Valdez Leadership Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP San Jose Collegiate is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Latino College Preparatory Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 16-14 on Monday.

Amy Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs. Another player making a difference was Alicia Espino, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Luis Valdez Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to Design Tech.

Luis Valdez Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate skirted past Luis Valdez Leadership Academy 12-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
