Basketball Recap: Thorsby Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

Thorsby lost to Chilton County back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Thorsby Rebels enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over the Chilton County Tigers.

Despite the loss, Chilton County still got an impressive performance from Marshall Thornhill, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 15 points along with six steals and five boards. Those six steals gave Thornhill a new career-high. Cayden Meank was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Thorsby is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Chilton County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Thorsby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-58 win against Jemison on the 11th. Chilton County has also already played their next contest, a 63-47 loss against Calera on the 14th.
