Preview: Quincy vs. Alton
On Friday, Alton are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Quincy at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Alton couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-21 punch to the gut against Highland last Friday. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Meanwhile, Quincy was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge last week, breezing past North Lawndale 58-0. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Quincy are ranked far ahead of North Lawndale in the MaxPreps rankings.
Quincy's win lifted them to 1-0 while Alton's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Quincy can add another positive mark to their record or if Alton can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Quincy's step.
