Preview: North Putnam Cougars vs. Cloverdale Clovers
The North Putnam Cougars and the Cloverdale Clovers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cloverdale took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Putnam, who comes in off a win.
North Putnam scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Monrovia 67-50.
Meanwhile, Cloverdale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 82-43 defeat at the hands of Parke Heritage. While losing is never fun, Cloverdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while Parke Heritage is ranked 83rd).
North Putnam is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Cloverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
North Putnam was able to grind out a solid victory over Cloverdale in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 41-28. Does North Putnam have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cloverdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
