Baseball Recap: Bloomington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodsboro last Tuesday, Bloomington came back down to earth. The Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats lost 14-1 to the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs on Friday. The Bobcats/Lady Cats have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Bloomington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Nixon-Smiley, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ganado at 6:00 p.m. on March 28th. Nixon-Smiley also won't see the field for a while: their next match is against Randolph at 4:00 p.m. on March 11th.
