Baseball Recap: Maywood Academy Comes Up Short

The Maywood Academy Nighthawks came up short against the Animo De La Hoya Boxers on Thursday and fell 6-1. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maywood Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Orozco, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Maywood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Animo De La Hoya, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Maywood Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Jordan on the 24th. As for Animo De La Hoya, they will host CALS Early College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Animo De La Hoya their first taste of in-conference action this season.
