Baseball Recap: Thatcher Comes Up Short

Thatcher was the 6-1 winner over Tanque Verde when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks on Thursday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thatcher saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jett Howard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Thatcher's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Tanque Verde, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Thatcher will look to defend their home field on Friday against Douglas at 2:00 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Tanque Verde, they will head out to square off against Coolidge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
