Basketball Recap: Briant Call's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Nelsonville-York over Logan

Nelsonville-York lost against Logan back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Logan Chieftains. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Buckeyes still had to take the loss.

Nelsonville-York lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Briant Call, who went 7 of 10 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Call's third in a row with at least ten points. Alec Thompson was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Nelsonville-York's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Logan, their victory ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

Nelsonville-York will take on River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nelsonville-York is facing River Valley at the right time seeing as River Valley is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Logan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-25 defeat against Pickerington Central on the 27th.
