Basketball Recap: Lake Shore Takes a Loss

Lake Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fitzgerald Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-39 back in January.

Lake Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Fitzgerald, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Coming up, Lake Shore will be playing in front of their home fans against Sterling Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fitzgerald, they will head out on the road to challenge Regina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
