Basketball Recap: Jasmine Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead BASIS Flagstaff over Northland Prep Academy

BASIS Flagstaff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 48-22 to the Northland Prep Academy Spartans. The Yetis were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

BASIS Flagstaff's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasmine Hall, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Hall has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maleea Moebes, who put up four points and five steals.

Annabelle Jackson had an outrageously good game for Northland Prep Academy as she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in points. Ellysia Martinez was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten steals and eight rebounds.

BASIS Flagstaff's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Northland Prep Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

BASIS Flagstaff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-30 loss against Williams on the 14th. Northland Prep Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 53-19 defeat against Many Farms on the 16th.
