Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slippery Rock). They rang in the new year with a 72-59 win over the Greenville Trojans on Friday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Trojans are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Slippery Rock's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Greenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Slippery Rock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-42 loss against Fort LeBoeuf on the 4th. As for Greenville, they will square off against Conneaut Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
