Baseball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Columbia was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hurricanes since on Thursday.

Columbia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Cape Hatteras, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Columbia will square off against Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trailblazers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cape Hatteras does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
