Softball Recap: Campbellsville Triumphs

Campbellsville took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Russell County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Campbellsville Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Russell County Lakers on Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 22, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Aubreigh Knifley, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caselynn Brown, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Campbellsville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Russell County, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Campbellsville will take on Bethlehem at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bethlehem will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Campbellsville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Russell County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockcastle County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Russell County is facing Rockcastle County at the right time seeing as Rockcastle County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
