Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Weber Warriors
Layton is 8-2 against Weber since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Layton Lancers will be playing at home against the Weber Warriors at 5:15 p.m. Hopefully Layton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Layton had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Farmington with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. The win was just what Layton needed coming off of a 60-34 defeat in their prior contest.
Layton had a senior duo take command as Oakley Homer scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Avery Potter scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Thurgood, who scored five points along with two steals.
Weber suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 63-43 loss to Fremont might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Weber has suffered against Fremont since January 19, 2021.
Layton's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Weber, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10.
Layton was able to grind out a solid win over Weber in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 47-39. Does Layton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Weber turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
