Recap: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Early County Bobcats
The Terrell County Greenwave waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 47-41 W over Early County. For Terrell County, this counts as revenge for the 34-24 defeat Early County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Terrell County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khloe Brown led the charge by scoring 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tadreuna Rogers, who scored 10 points.
Early County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacorra Russell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Russell scored a full 29.3% of Early County's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kemyra Conley, who scored 12 points.
Terrell County's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Early County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terrell County will face off against Pataula Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pataula Charter Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Early County, they will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
