Basketball Recap: Streamwood Takes a Loss

If Streamwood was riding high fresh off their 51-21 takedown of Elgin on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Streamwood Sabres were outmatched by the West Aurora Blackhawks and fell 88-40. The Sabres were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-14.

Streamwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Byron Walton, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds, and Payton Clements, who had six points. Walton's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Streamwood dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for West Aurora, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Streamwood will square off against St. Charles North at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for West Aurora, they will take on Plainfield East at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
