Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Patriots vs. Sunnyside Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Hoover Patriots will jump right back in to play the Sunnyside Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hoover is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Hoover picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against Edison by a score of 67-54. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Tigers are ranked 992nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but Sunnyside ultimately received the gift of a 52-50 win from a begrudging Wildcats squad.

Hoover's record now sits at 5-3. As for Sunnyside, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Hoover came up short against Sunnyside when the teams last played back in February, falling 66-55. Can Hoover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
